The London, Midland & Scottish Railway Company Limited was formed through the grouping of railways under the Railways Act 1921, and embraced the following eight constituent and twenty-seven subsidiary companies.
All of the constituent companies have their own dedicated line society and their web-sites are linked from the appropriate company name. Many of the constituent companies are linked to the society of the operating company.
*The three companies listed were incorporated with the LNWR Company as from 1st January 1922.
